Books by R.M. Cowan: Inspiring Children's Stories

R.M. Cowan, or Richard as he is known, is a retired electronics engineer, educator, entrepreneur, and business executive.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and is the recipient of two Purple Hearts from wounds received in combat while serving in the Vietnam War. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as an instructor and supervisor of air traffic control radar.

His retirement has afforded him the time to write the stories that he was told as a child and passed on to his children and grandchildren. This is Richard's second book. His first, penned under the name of R. Monroe, is titled, Granddad's Classic Bedtime Stories.

The idea for The Princess Fairy came from the stories he was told as a child by his grandmother and later told to his children. He is a proponent of reading to children and firmly believes that one of the best gifts to give a child is to read to them aloud. Studies have shown that children who are read to, regardless of demographic, do better in school and achieve more in life.

Richard is working on a sequel to The Fairy Princess, which should be out in 2024.

Cathy Chancellor Wright did all the illustrations in the book. She is a talented and renowned artist who lives in Arizona. Cathy is active in her church with volunteer work and has illustrated other books as well.
